Mercury Retrograde in Pisces (1st/12th), Conjunct Venus, Vulcan, Pallas, Sun & North Node / Trine Jupiter & the Moon in Cancer (4th).
This lineup is huge; it's no wonder everyone feels flat or mixed up. Piscean energy lacks clarity and boundaries when not in its highest expression. It's one of the most challenging frequencies to navigate, especially when you have prominent points in your natal blueprint in Pisces or a water sign.
Mercury is now retrograde in Pisces at 22 degrees, sitting at the front of a powerful Pisces stellium in the 1st house. Mercury brings the retrograde experience into self-perception, identity, and how we interpret our reality. Just behind it in the 12th sits Venus, Vulcan, Pallas Athene, the Sun, and the North Node in Pisces, creating a deep subconscious current feeding directly into conscious awareness. This is our inner world and identity rising for expression.
When Mercury retrogrades in Pisces, this energy slows down, and receptivity becomes prominent, emotional, symbolic, and memory-based.
In the 1st house, this becomes personal. You may notice heightened sensitivity to your own thoughts, words, and reactions. What you say and how you interpret things now is being filtered through the subconscious layers from our early environment. With the stellium in the 12th, those layers become active. Old emotional imprints, unprocessed grief, and unconscious beliefs are closer to the surface than usual, ready for review, release and rewiring. If you have old pain points rising and creating conflict, now is the time to communicate softly and create strategies that will support healing.
Psychologically, this activates identity-level conditioning. The 1st house governs the “I am” principle and how we meet life before logic steps in. With Mercury retrograde here, many reactions are not coming from the present moment but from stored emotional memory. From an epigenetic lens, this is body memory influencing perception. The nervous system will retrieve familiar emotional beliefs and overlays, and drop them into the current experience. This is why reactions may feel immediate, personal, and strangely familiar all at once. Our body gets addicted to cortisol and will do anything to get a fix.
The Pisces stellium sitting behind Mercury deepens everything that’s surfacing. Venus opens the emotional field, bringing themes of love, worth, and attachment closer to the surface. Vulcan applies pressure from within, pushing honesty around what we truly feel. Pallas brings awareness to the patterns, helping subconscious dynamics become visible. The Sun lights it all up, while the North Node pulls awareness toward where the soul is trying to move next, supporting forward evolution. Together, this creates a moment where subconscious material is no longer just felt in the subconscious; it becomes conscious.
Spiritually, this is a veil-thinning moment and carries a lot of strength. With so much Pisces and 12th house energy, the boundary between self and collective is permeable. Many people will notice emotions moving through them that don’t feel entirely personal. Empaths will feel this immediately. Mercury in the 1st can make these experiences feel like “this is me,” when in reality, some of what’s being processed belongs to the field. Discernment becomes essential here.
The trine to Jupiter and the Moon in Cancer in the 4th house brings emotional support into the configuration. Cancer governs memory, home, father, our early environment and conditioning and the emotional body.
Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and the Moon here amplifies feelings while also nurturing it. This trine creates a healing pathway. While Pisces dissolves and exposes, Cancer holds and integrates. This is what allows deep patterns to surface without completely destabilising the system.
At its highest expression, this is emotional retrieval with support. The water trine creates flow between identity (1st), subconscious (12th), and emotional roots (4th). Old memories may return, but with more awareness than before. Family patterns, early imprinting, and belonging themes can surface now, not to pull you backwards, but to be felt differently. When emotional memory is revisited with awareness, it stops repeating unconsciously.
This is not a fast-moving transit. Mercury in retrograde asks for observation rather than reaction. The more you slow perception down, the more clearly you will see what is yours and what has been carried forward. The presence of the North Node here suggests that awareness itself is the movement forward.
How do we navigate this?
Let the mind soften.
Let the body speak.
What you witness clearly now no longer needs to shape your future. Use what’s surfacing to reassess and redirect toward a more aligned outcome. Try not to judge what you see. Allow the human experience to unfold, because we are all here learning through each other. The places that need healing are often revealed through interaction, not isolation. Much of what we come to understand about ourselves only becomes visible once life reflects it back to us.
If you’re noticing patterns becoming clearer and want to understand what’s actually driving them, this is the work I do with people every day.
Sometimes a single conversation can bring clarity to what’s been looping for years.
